Just in case you were wondering how it's done...holding needles in 5-space from last spring in the Mental Wellness Creative Loft Space and making purple knee socks (photo credit Julie Fitz)

Sitting down in The Merchants of Green Coffee at a coffee table. The couch is comfy and I have decided to start my 7th pair of socks. The yarn is an acrylic/ vegan extra soft baby DK. These will be a gift for my mother. Cold outside but warm in here. I’m using the same very easy sock pattern because I’m comfortable with it although it’s not for everyone. It uses 3mm double pointed needles—5 of them, which is a bit of super—coordination in terms of getting used to handling them without dropping them! A while back a few folks in advertising watched me knitting like this and I could overhear them remarking how funny it would be if one of the needles flew out of my hands and stabbed me in the eye—weird ad humour but that visual! I could imagine the corresponding comic.
