Have been busy making creations in wool. These are crochet projects I have completed last week; quickly I am getting my technique improved from hours a time of focus. Art that can be worn!
I am guessing this must be someone's tradition but it is beautiful to see rose petals spilling onto the streets Friend: Hindus and Buddhists often use the petals of flowers in their rituals Friend: And yes, it's beautiful. One thing I loved about Indonesia, particularly Bali, was the Hindu rituals. From dusk until dawn there was some ritual being performed several times a day. Whether you're religious or not they added something beautiful to daily life there. What do secularist people do? Coffee break. I like Starbucks but there's no beauty in Catrina: That's a good something to think about. I think the coffee breaks are a good example of secular ritual. These petals were all over the side walk, the curb and also strewn behind a parked car..it really added some delight to my day. Friend:You know it just kind of popped into my mind... but yes, this is definitely something to think about more. A lot more. "Life is made up of moments, small pieces of glittering mica in a long stretch of grey cement. "
Anna Quindlen Sure sign of spring and having survived a very cold winter. And I am growing a green thumb! My plants have made it for the most part. Sitting beside an icy window was stressful for them and had to move them around so they could get some warm (from a radiator, eeks). Also I was crossing my fingers they could transition from the direct sunlight in my old place to shady northern exposure here. So I am relieved and happy to see that the new shoots are coming in! |
